The Christian Bakers Who Refused To Bake Cake For Gay Wedding Received A Devastating News From Oregon Court!

No one should be forced into making anything or doing anything against their beliefs!

Sadly, Christian bakers Aaron and Melissa Klein from Oregon were shut down because they refused to furnish a wedding cake for two lesbians on the grounds that doing so would violate the owners’ Christian beliefs.

The Oregon Court of Appeals upheld a ruling against two bakery owners who refused to bake a wedding cake for a lesbian wedding in 2013 because it would go against their Christian beliefs.

The court did reverse one decision that said bakers Aaron and Melissa Klein violated state law by communicating their intent to discriminate against gay couples in the future, according to KGW-TV.

The case could next go to the Oregon Supreme Court, KGW reported.

The case began back in January 2013, when Aaron and Melissa Klein, owners of the since-closed Sweet Cakes by Melissa bakery just outside Portland, Oregon, cited their religious beliefs when declining to make a wedding cake for Rachel and Laurel Bowman-Cryer.

Following the incident, the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries found the Kleins in violation of a 2007 state law that protects the rights of LGBTQ people in employment, housing and public accommodations. In 2015, the couple was ordered to pay the Bowman-Cryers emotional distress damages.

The Kleins appealed the decision in March 2017, arguing the state’s Bureau of Labor and Industries violated their rights as artists to free speech, their rights to religious freedom and their rights as defendants to a due process.

Today, nearly five years after the incident that ignited the case, the Oregon Court of Appeals sided with the state and upheld the penalty against the Kleins.

What happened to: “we have the right to refuse service to anyone.” I don’t want anyone mistreated but I don’t think that you should be able to sue for standing for a religious belief. You want to be except for what you believe but you are willing to take that right away from others who don’t support your lifestyle. That is a double standard and reverse discrimination.
