Ignoring the fact that the United States has veto power, 14 members of the UN Security Council voted in favor of a resolution calling for Donald Trump to rescind his declaration to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and to put the United States Embassy there.

UN can’t make the US do anything. This is why U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley held nothing back as she fired shots at the U.N. for its actions. She denounced the resolution as “an insult” and said it “won’t be forgotten.”
What we have witnessed here is an insult,” Haley continued. “It won’t be forgotten. It is one more example of the UN doing more harm than good in addressing the Israeli Palestinian conflict. Today, for the simple act of deciding where to put its embassy, the United States was forced to defend its sovereignty. The record will reflect that we did so proudly. Today, for acknowledging the basic truth that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, we are accused of harming peace. The record will reflect that we reject that outrageous claim.”
Haley said that a peace process that is damaged by “the simple recognition” that Jerusalem is Israel’s capital is “not a peace process, it is a justification for an endless stalemate.”
Nikki Haley on UNSC vote:“The United States will not be told by any country where we can put our embassy. What we have witnessed here is an insult. It won’t be forgotten. It is one more example of the UN doing more harm than good in addressing the Israeli Palestinian conflict."

She took sharp issue with those charging that the US move set the peace process back, asking: “What does it gain the Palestinian people for some of their leaders to accuse the US of being hostile to the cause of peace?” Haley said that the US had done more than any other country to assist the Palestinian people, and has provided them with more than $5 billion in assistance since 1994.
Haley said that what is troublesome for some people is that the US had the “courage and honesty to recognize a fundamental reality: Jerusalem has been the political, cultural and spiritual homeland of the Jewish people for thousands of years; they have had no other capital city.”
Nikki Haley is an awesome lady with this country’s best interests at heart! And Americans support her:

The fact that this would even come to a vote at the UN is a bad sign for the UN.
American's are loath to be told what to do by outside interests. https://t.co/928UqFrH4K

We won’t be told where we can have our embassy. It’s NONE of their business. President Trump doesn’t bow down to the UN like Obama did. Funny how Clinton, Obama , Bush all promised this and nobody complained. It’s only Trump had the backbone to actually do it. Now it’s a problem.
That is why we should pull our funding and cancel the lease on the property where the UN sits. It is a useless organization that legitimizes rogue nations under the guise of “promoting peace”.
