During a Wednesday’s discussion at George Washington University Law School, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg slammed the Senate hearings for Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh and lamented that the confirmation process had devolved into a “highly partisan show” since she was confirmed in 1993.
“The way it was, was right. The way it is is wrong,” Ginsburg said, prompting a round of applause.
The liberal justice said Wednesday that the “atmosphere” back then was “truly bipartisan.”
“The vote on my confirmation was 96-3, even though I had spent about 10 years of my life litigating cases under the auspices of the ACLU,” she said.
“No senator asked me any questions — not about that,” she said.
She also explained Justice Antonin Scalia who is considered a very conservative Judge, had been confirmed by a 98-0 vote in the Senate.
“Think of Justice Scalia, who’s certainly a known character in, what was it? 1986,” Ginsburg stated. “The vote was unanimous, every Democrat and every Republican voted for him. That’s the way it should be, instead of what it’s become, which is a highly partisan show. The Republicans move in lockstep, so do the Democrats. I wish I could wave a magic wand and have it go back to the way it was.”
Here you have it. Even Ruth Bader Ginsburg said it was a crap show. The difference is that the left (democrats, socialists, and fascists) now views the court system as the maker of law instead of the body to determine the constitutionality of a law. Therefore, they need partisans on the bench to accomplish what the Congress often will not or can not do. All you have to do is look at the rulings by left-wing federal court judges to realize what the end game is with judicial appointments.
This is why the liberals acted the way they did during Kavanaugh Senate hearings. It was entertaining to watch at times, but others with all the liberals yapping even before the hearings began were just so childish. It made them look like whiny babies who can’t get their way. I have never seen adults, people who we elected to work for us, act like this.
It was a shame.
Unfortunately for them, Brett Kavanaugh will be approved on October 1st. Then SCOTUS can begin ruling based on the Constitution.
